GenAI Demystified 00: Introducing the Series

Introduction:

Over the years we have encountered many disruptive technologies that promised to redefine the future (and in some sense have redefined the future).  GenAI (Generative AI) promises to be a seismic shift in digital innovation, and we can already see AI being deployed at scales not previously imagined.  The aim of my series on “GenAI Demystified” is to help a wide range of readers fill their AI tool boxes with not only tools but knowledge, approaches and a healthy dose of skepticism.  Equipped with such a “tool-kit” [“tool-kit” being a metaphor for a set of skills and knowledge], one can master the complex web of AI technologies.  Not only that, but I intend to also provide compelling insights into the societal, economic, and ethical implications of these innovations, such that grasping the big picture is attainable.  In doing so we want to explore how AI impacts you on a personal level, a corporate/governmental level and at a global level where this is taking society as a whole (and hopefully in the process I will save the reader a lot of heartache).

By featuring topics on filling the AI toolbox, maintaining a critical eye on AI claims, and addressing the ethical and societal implications of AI, the blog series will empower readers with knowledge to help navigate the evolving tech landscape. The goal is to provide actionable insights and information that can help individuals and businesses leverage AI effectively while avoiding potential pitfalls.
